Signal Tech is an aggregation desk. These rules cover what appears on the page, how it is credited, and how a mistake gets fixed.
What we run
- Items must come from a configured RSS feed, the arXiv API, or a public Reddit listing. The source list is in the repository, not chosen per reader.
- The desk favors AI engineering, chips and silicon, and developer tools. Other technology coverage stays available through the topic bar.
- Promotional posts that match coupon, discount, or similar sales language are dropped before render.
- A headline is not rewritten to change its meaning. Titles are taken from the source, with a publisher suffix removed when a feed appends one.
- Excerpts are shortened for the card. The link is the article.
Attribution
Every story card shows the publisher or author string supplied by the feed, then the headline, then the link. Images stay attached to that story and fall back to a category mark when the source has none. Signal Tech does not put its name on a publisher’s reporting.
Weekly digests group those same items. They cite the underlying stories and are meant to be read next to the archive on digests, not instead of the originals.
When an optional summary model adds a “why it matters” note, that note is labeled as the publication’s line. It is not quoted as the publisher’s words.
Corrections
A wrong headline, a broken link, a story that should not have been included, or a missing credit can be reported on the contact page. Choose “Correction.” Include the URL on Signal Tech, the original URL, and what is wrong.
Fixes land in the next data refresh or in the page itself, whichever the error requires. The collected JSON is regenerated on a schedule, so a story that disappears from a publisher feed can also leave this page on the following fetch. Signal Tech does not keep a separate corrections log on the site. The change is the correction.
Legal requests about a specific article should go to the publisher who holds the rights, and may also be sent here so the link can be removed from the desk.
