About Signal Tech
Last updated 10 October 2026
Signal Tech is a briefing for people who build and buy technology. It gathers AI engineering, chips, and developer tools into one page, with a Friday briefing for readers who want the week in one note.
Mission
The job of this publication is to shorten the time between a primary source and a decision. A staff engineer, a founder, or a hardware lead should be able to see what changed in their field without opening a dozen sites. Signal Tech links out. The original story stays with the publisher.
How stories are chosen
The page is a curated desk, not a personal feed. Sources are a fixed list of RSS and public APIs maintained in the repository: news feeds, the arXiv API, review feeds, and public Reddit listings. Topic labels such as chips, security, and space are keyword groups applied in the browser. They do not silently rewrite a headline.
A live Google News edition can add headlines for the region and language a reader picks. That request is optional. If it fails, or if the sync host is disconnected, the page keeps the JSON files already published with the site. Those files are refreshed on a schedule of about six hours. The page itself checks for a newer file every few minutes.
Saved stories, theme, region, and language stay in the reader’s browser. They are preferences, not an editorial ranking.
Aggregation, stated plainly
- Headlines, excerpts, and images come from the publisher or the public API that carried them.
- Signal Tech does not present that material as its own reporting.
- Each card links to the original page. A short excerpt is a pointer, not a replacement.
- An optional “why it matters” line, when a summary key is configured, is the publication’s own note on top of the excerpt.
- Weekly digests are generated from the same collected items and stored as files on this site.
Source lists and the rules for excerpts live in scripts/. Corrections and takedown requests go through the contact page. The editorial policy describes attribution and fixes.
